Traditional food in Manuel Antonio:
- Gallo Pinto. Traditional hearty breakfast consists of fried beans, rice, cilantro, onions, and sweet peppers. It comes with sweet bananas and scramble eggs with sausages.
- Arroz con Pollo. Made with rice, chicken and chopped vegetables, the variety comes from the condiments.
- Patacones (fried plantains). Are almost banana chips. You take the plantain, slice it and fry then smash them in a chip shape and fry again. They are served with guacamole, salsa, and beans. Perfect for any time.-Mahi Relleno. Mahi pieces or fillets - Mahi that can be stuffed with shrimp or cooked vegetables of the season. It is seasoned with salt and pepper. Served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, or fresh salad as a side dish.
- Ceviche de Pulpo. Cooked octopus, red onion and chili, seasoned with lemon juice and salt to taste, at the end you can add a little chopped coriander and serve in a deep plate or long glass accompanied by fried potatoes as a garnish.
