Lima

Lima, the capital of Peru, is in the coastal desert of the country, being nowadays a modern city, with stunning Pacific Ocean views, big and colorful parks, world class gastronomy and traces of its pre-Columbian and colonial history.

What to do in Lima?
Lima has plenty to offer to its visitors. You can start at the Historic Center. Lima main square is the heart of the historic center. From here you can explore the Government Palace, the Cathedral and other plazas and buildings nearby appreciating the colonial style architecture and other influences brought by the Spanish conquerors. There are also different types of museums.
Aside from the historic center there are other areas worth the visit, more modern but at the same time traditional as they keep part of Lima history, such as:

- Pueblo Libre district and the Larco Museum with the largest collection of pre-Columbian art.
- Barranco, known as the bohemian district of Lima with its charming streets and old republican style mansions (between XIX  and early XX centuries). When walking by Barranco you can appreciate and visit modern art and street art galleries as well as some of the best cafes, bars and restaurants in town.
- Miraflores is one of the most modern districts in Lima. One of the most popular spots is a very stylish contemporary shopping center overlooking the ocean. It is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal with a sunset view in one of its many restaurants. Another must-visit in Miraflores is Huaca Pucllana Archeological site.
