Overview

Isabela is an island with history because during 1946 to 1959 there was a penitentiary. The prisoners built the “Wall of Tears” as part of their punishment. The wall was built with blocks of volcanic lava stone and measures 100 meters long by 7 meters high.

On Isabela Island there was also an American military base from World War II whose structure was used for the prison and that can be seen when climbing a ladder to the top of the Wall.

The trails of this tour take you to the giant tortoise farm to see how they develop, after this visit you will go to the swimming pool of the famingos to finally reach the “Wall of Tears” and its viewpoint to enjoy the panoramic view of the whole island.

The return will be no less spectacular, you will enjoy seeing birds that cross the beaches and you will even be able to see the sunset with the sea in the background.
