To get to Machu Picchu from Cusco you will first have to board a private bus that leaves from the Inca Rail office in Cusco. This bus will take you comfortably to Ollantaytambo where you will disembark at the Inca Rail private parking lot to go to the train station and board the train that will take you to the city of Aguas Calientes, the closest town to Machu Picchu.
“The Voyager” train offers you an aperitif on board while you travel through imposing mountains, the slopes of the Urubamba River and the humid forest that rises in the surroundings of Machu Picchu.
The trip has a total duration of about 4 hours, leaving first from Cusco at 8:30 AM (meeting point: Inca Rail office in Cusco), the bus will travel part of the Sacred Valley and its beautiful landscape, the bus arrives at the private parking from Inca Rail in the city of Ollantaytambo, once there, the bus staff will guide you to the train station to board the train that leaves at 11:15 AM and arrives at the town of Aguas Calientes in about an hour and a half, while you travel the rest of the way through the Valley, the train staff offers you a box lunch to keep you up while you arrive at your final destination: Machu Picchu.
