Plaza Sur (south plaza) is the smallest island in the Galapagos, however it is not less attractive, here you also find wildlife to explore.
The soil of this small island is the product of lava hardening. Your adventure could even start when you disembark at the dock where you will surely be welcomed by the sea lions that inhabit the coasts, however these are not the only animals you will see, you can also find some iguanas hidden among the cacti waiting to feed on some prickly pear at the fall.
The South Plaza Island has its own charm, it is a good place for bird lovers as you can see various species of tropical and coastal birds such as pelicans, forked-tailed gulls and the strange frigate birds while you take a walk towards a cliff that will allow you to see beautiful panoramic views of the ocean and schools of fish moving in the sea.
The only way to get to South Plaza Island is by boat, so after a walk around the place you will return to the boat for lunch while you go to Punta Carrión where you can see colorful reef fish, small sharks, sea turtles while you do some snorkel. Once the tour is finished, you will return to Puerto Ayora.
