The South Panamerican Highway will take us through beautiful valleys full of crops until we reach the top of the Irazú volcano where you will have a panoramic view of the green landscape.
Then we will continue the descent until we reach the Basilica of the Virgin of the Angels in the city of Cartago. We will also visit the Lankester Botanical Garden, an orchid research center that houses more than 800 different species of this beautiful flower, as well as other plant species.
We will continue down to the Orosí Valley where you will find farmland, where mainly coffee is grown. The Orosí Valley is a place with history, it has seen important events such as the arrival of settlers, pirate attacks and other natural events such as floods and earthquakes.
In Orosí we will make stops to visit some of the churches from the colonial era that are still well preserved. Finally we will take a typical lunch to recover energy.
