The rapids of the Urubamba river are spectacular and safe. While you navigate through its waters, you will be able to appreciate beautiful landscapes and fauna typical of the area. This river represented for the Incas an astronomical guide since the stars at night and the sun during the day were reflected in it, these luminous elements of nature were gods and protective spirits in the Inca polytheistic religion.
After picking up at your hotel, this tour will take you by car for approximately 40 minutes to the Piñapampa area, where the rafting begins with a small safety talk and the rafting guide give you the necessary equipment. The rapids here go up to level III during the rainy months from December to April, while in the dry season from May to November the rapids drop to categories I and II.
