At 7:00 AM you will be traveling by car along the “Avenue of the Volcanoes” from where you can appreciate the beautiful Andean landscape full of hills.
This trip will take you to the Toachi river canyon passing through several indigenous communities where you can visit a family from these communities to learn about their daily routine and perhaps learn some words in their native language “Kichwa”.
Continuing with the trip, you can visit the colorful Zumbahua Saturday market where merchants come every Saturday to sell products that tourists can bring native paintings, jewelry, textile products, ceramic and leather crafts as well as essential food products.
When you finally arrive at Lake Quilotoa, located in the crater of the volcano that bears the same name, you will be able to see its beautiful emerald waters and take the most beautiful photos. We suggest you acclimatize before doing this hike to the lake, which is at an altitude of more than 3,500 meters (11,482 feet) above sea level.
