Overview

You will be able to appreciate the landscape of San Cristobal Island in this full day tour that takes you by boat along the coast and on a hike to the highlands of the island while watching the endemic flora and fauna of this part of the Galapagos archipelago.

Throughout the trip you will be accompanied by an expert naturalist guide who will explain everything you see on the tour as well as the importance of these natural spaces for the survival of the whole world.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Media Luna Viewpoint
  • Giant Galapagos Tortoises (in their natural habitat)

Itinerary

The first point to visit is the "Media Luna" cone that serves as a natural viewpoint with fantastic views of the island. This tour is a 3.5-hour walk where you can see the giant Galapagos tortoises in their natural habitat.

The next scene will be Punta Pitt, a set of eroded volcanic cones that are found in the extreme northeast of the island, when you arrive you will also have views worthy of photographs, the path also takes you to a green sand beach, something unique to see, this section of the walk will take you about 2 hours.

Punta Pitt is an important place for bird lovers because here is the only place where you can see 3 types of boobies: the blue-footed booby, the Nazca booby and the strange red-footed booby that, unlike its peers, prefers trees for nesting instead of rocky areas. The beaches of Punta Pitt are good for snorkeling and you can also see the friendly sea lions coming out of the sea or lying on the sand.
