Overview

Perolniyoc is a waterfall that is located on the outskirts of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, however it is a less explored place. Being a less crowded attraction, it gives visitors the possibility to take time to appreciate the beauty and experience the tranquility and peace of the place. On the way to the falls you can also see the ruins of Raqaypata at the top.

Itinerary

This adventure begins by leaving your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley at 8:00 AM, in a car that will take you to Ollantaytambo, there you can buy your snacks for the walk, then the car will take you to the town of Socma for the start of the walk.

The first place to visit is the ruins of Raqaypata, during the journey that lasts approximately 1 hour, the guide will explain to you how and why these Inca buildings were built and why they are located at the top of a canyon.

After visiting and exploring Raqaypata, the next step is to head towards the Perolniyoc waterfalls that are 100 meters (328 feet) high. On the way, you will enjoy landscapes full of vegetation and you could see some native birds. The falls form a pool of crystal clear water ready for you to cool off.

For the return you will pass through the city of Urubamba to have lunch and try some Peruvian dishes, then you will have time to stay and take a walk until the guide calls you to take you back to your hotel.
