Overview

Marvel at the tour to the Paracas National Reserve, know this coastal desert, its history, its beaches, its geography and the abundant marine fauna that is preserved there.

The Paracas National Reserve protects the marine flora and fauna of the Paracas peninsula and bay in a land of about 335 thousand hectares (828 thousand acres).

The Paracas National Reserve is of vital importance for the fauna of this place, the sea lions, Humboldt punguins and other marine birds depend on the fish for feeding, so it will not be difficult for you to see some birds flying over the coast and swooping down the sea to catch their food.

The tour will begin with a visit to the Paracas Interpretation Center where the guides seek to sensitize visitors to promote the conservation of the natural and cultural resources of this protected area.

The tour will continue its journey to the rock formation called “La Catedral” (the cathedral) which was an arch that joined the coast with a rock forming a kind of church dome, currently only the base of this rock formation has remained because unfortunately the arch was destroyed by the earthquake of 2007.  Then the tour will take you to know the “Playa Roja” (red beach) and other beaches that are on the shores of the Reserve.
