Overview

This cultural tour will take you to visit the different communities surrounding the city of Otavalo where you will visit the artisan workshops, there you will see weaved clothing made of sheep and alpaca wool as well as made handicrafts with Totora reed fiber.

Itinerary

This cultural adventure begins at 9:00 AM, leaving by car from your Hotel in Otavalo and passing through the town of San Rafael to visit an indigenous family and see how they carry out their artisan works in Totora fiber. You will also visit an Andean musical instrument making workshop.

The tour continues with a walk in the Cascada de Peguche Protected Forest, one of the main attractions of this area for its natural waterfalls and equatorial tropical forests. In the afternoon you will stop for lunch in the city of Cotacachi with free time to explore the city.

And finally, you will visit the Cuicocha Lagoon where you can take beautiful photos of this lagoon that is located in a volcanic crater.
