Mountain biking is one of the most complete exercises, combine it with adrenaline and explore the archaeological sites of Moray and Maras in the Sacred Valley.
The mountain biking begins in the community of Chinchero where you will arrive first by bus. The pick up will be from your hotel at 9:00 AM. You will be provided with a helmet, gloves and the mountain bike, as well as a small talk about safety and about the places to be visited.
The first place to visit is Moray, this is the archaeological site where you will see the circular platforms that were built in depressions of the land, that is, in a descending and not ascending way as the ancient Peruvians used to build them for their crops, so some archaeologists and Scholars think that in this way the inhabitants of this area experimented to verify how crops grew at different heights.
The next point to go will be the salt mines of Maras, down a mule road. The Maras salt mines were built on the slopes of the mountains where puddles of salt water were dammed to produce salt when they dried. Seeing them from afar is quite a spectacle because they look like mosaics painted by nature.
Finally, you will start the return journey to the city of Cusco.
