The tour to Machu Picchu will make you feel immersed into the majestic Inca past where you can visit the buildings left by the ancient Inca settlers mainly of religious nature, residential (their houses) agricultural collection buildings and others. We thank all these knowledge to our historians and archaeologists who have had to collect the little material left by the Incas who inhabited this citadel and according to the investigations carried out, Machu Picchu sheltered an average of 500 people.
The Tour begins at the Aguas Calientes bus station to go up to the citadel for approximately 30 minutes where your guide will start the tour with an explanation of the site for 2 and a half hours so that later you can explore the Inca citadel and take all the photos that you wish thus completing your 4 hour shift.
According to the investigations of historians and archeologists, the citadel was built in the 15th century. Today part of the Inca site has been restored so that we can more accurately imagine what it was like to live in those times. The technology of that time allowed the inhabitants to have drinking water despite living on the top of the mountain thanks to the construction of channels where water still flows from the nearby springs and which served to feed the network of cultivation platforms (The Andenes).
As Machu Picchu is a complete citadel, you will visit important sites such as the Temple of the Sun, the solar clock or Intihuatana, the Sacred Plaza or Main Temple, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Temple of the Condor, all in the urban and ceremonial sector As well as you will also know the agricultural sector where you will be able to appreciate the cultivation terraces called “Andenes”, the irrigation channels and the storage buildings for the products of their harvest.
