Lobería beach is very close to San Cristobal airport, its name comes from the large number of sea lions that inhabit the beach, it is easy to find them sunbathing on the sand, there you can see how friendly they are, but always be very careful not to disturb them because they are very territorial and nature can be unpredictable at times. Playa Lobería is also ideal for snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles and stingrays.
As you head towards the beach you will see the diversity of flora that grows on the island of San Cristobal, unique flora such as the Palo Santo tree and the White Mangroves. In the rocks near the coast you will see some marine iguanas and if you have time you can walk a cliff where you will see some endemic birds nesting or flying such as forked-tailed gulls, blue-footed boobies and the strange frigate bird with its bulging red crop.
