Overview

Travel through the main periods of Peruvian history combined with the modernity of a big city like Lima in this city tour that will show you the best of the pre-Columbian and colonial times.

One of the first attractions to visit is the Huaca Pucllana, a panoramic visit of this adobe pyramid built in the 4th century AD and which served as a ceremonial temple for the ancient Peruvians who inhabited this area of the city, as you can see, also in Cosmopolitan cities have vestiges of ancient civilizations, not only in the interior of the country, and Huaca Pucllana is an example of that.

Going down further towards the center of the city, you can visit the “Tablero de Pizarro” (Pizarro’s board), the historic center of Lima with its churches, convents, monuments and  squares, mostly from the colonial era, the attractions that you can appreciate are: the old Museum of the “Banco Central de Reserva” with its collection of ancient coins, paintings, and pre-Columbian textile and ceramic representations, as well as the Archiepiscopal Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Municipal Palace, the Plaza San Martín and the Main Square where you can breathe the style and elegance of the colonial era from the 16th century.

Another place visited on this city tour is the Convent of San Francisco and its catacombs, this convent is itself a work of art from the colonial era with its collection of religious art. Its construction dates from the 16th century and its catacombs were the ancient way of burying the dead, since before there were no cemeteries as we know them today, if you visit the catacombs, you will still be able to see bones and skulls of the people who were buried there.
