Cola de Mono is a lodge that is only 15 km. (9 miles) away from Machu Picchu almost reaching the town of Santa Teresa. This lodge has the first zip-line built in Peru where you can enjoy 2 hours of fun with your family, couple or friends.
The adventure begins leaving Aguas Calientes town on the train at 6:45 AM (remember to be at the train station 30 minutes before) to arrive at the Hidroelectrica train station at 7:30 AM. from there it will take you to get to the lodge a approximately 30 more minutes.
From your arrival at the lodge, together with the guide you will walk uphill for 20 more minutes to the beginning of the circuit that has 7 sliding cables that make a total of 2,500 meters (1.5 miles) and to head to the fourth zip-line you will climb the mountain going up an iron staircase in a total climbing of 50 meters (492 feet) to continue your fun, and once your zip-line adventure is over you will return to the lodge.
The second part of your adventure is to visit the thermal baths of Cocalmayo where you can relax in its spring waters and once this activity is finished it is time for lunch before returning to the town of Aguas Calientes on the train that leaves at 2:50. PM for approximately 45 minutes.
