Overview

You can see the Nazca geoglyphs from the top flying over in a small plane. According to studies carried out, these geoglyphs exist between 200 and 600 years BC. and despite being investigated since approximately the 1930s, their construction and purpose remain a mystery, but the most widely accepted hypothesis indicates that they are symbols of an astronomical calendar.

The geoglyphs that you will see represent zoomorphic, phytomorphic and geometric figures and among the most prominent we have: the monkey, the hummingbird, the hands, the spider, among others, including an anthropomorphic figure of a man who could have a helmet, the most reckless dare to say that it would be an ancient “astronaut” or a “being” from space, however formal scholars point out that it could be a fisherman because very close to his feet there are figures that look like fish.

Flying over from Ica you will also be able to see from the sky the Cantalloc aqueducts, from the top look like symmetrical holes inserted in the ground, these aqueducts served to collect water for cultivation in this area that tends to be dry most of the year.
