Enjoy the impressive show of the Peruvian Paso Horse, a tradition that is preserved to this day and that usually takes place in the northern part of Peru and also in the beautiful Lurín Valley at southern Lima.
The extensive gardens of the “Casa Hacienda Los Ficus” are the scene of the Peruvian Paso horse show, this private farm is located in the Lurín Valley. The show that also includes lunch, consists of a demonstration of the elegant steps that this Peruvian horse takes, steps that seem to be danced thanks to the directions of the rider or horsewoman who guides it.
These horses were brought to Peru by the Spanish who arrived at the time of the conquest, developing further in the northern region of Peru. This breed of horse is protected by the government, being declared by the National Institute of Culture as Cultural Patrimony of the Nation.
During the exhibition the hosts will teach you more about the history and practical uses of these specimens and you will see foals in training and older horses very well trained in the Peruvian Paso, you will also learn about the typical garments that covers the horses and with good luck even you will be able to ride a specimen and feel the gentle cadence of the horse when it steps.
