This tour allows you to know the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world with a depth of about 3400 meters (11155 feet), also the surrounding towns and the flight of the condors through the canyon, a truly impressive spectacle.
You will leave Arequipa very early between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM, this will allow you to appreciate the beautiful landscape of the Arequipa mountains. The first stop will be the town of Chivay for breakfast and then continue to the viewpoint of "La Cruz del Condor" (condor cross) where you can see the Andean white-collar condor in all its expledor, gliding through the canyon in search of food and acclimatize its body.
During the tour you will pass through some small peasant towns such as Yanque, Maca and Pinchollo where you will have an impressive view of the surrounding mountains, these towns date from the colonial era and have white churches built with Sillar (volcanic stone from the area) between the 16th and 18th centuries and which are preserved to this day.
Next, you will arrive at the Antahuilque viewpoint from where you can see the Choquetico tombs built by the Collagua civilization on the walls of the Cabanoconde hill. From this viewpoint you will also be able to appreciate how deep the Colca canyon is.
Returning to the town of Chivay for lunch, you will continue your trip back to Arequipa making a stop at the "Mirador de los Andes" or "Mirador de los Volcanes" because from there you can see the Misti, Sabancaya, Chachani, and Ampato volcanoes. In this area you will reach a height of 4,910 meters (16,000 feet). The tour will also make a stop at the "Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve" to see the Peruvian auquenids in their natural habitat, there you will be able to see some vicuñas, alpacas and llamas in this place protected by the Peruvian government before arriving around 6:00 PM to the city of Arequipa.
