On this tour you will visit the coffee plantations of the beautiful Intag Valley where you will discover amazing landscapes full of green and diversity of fauna that inhabit this mountainous region of the Ecuadorian Andes.
The day begins with the departure by car from Otavalo at around 9:00 AM. to visit a coffee plantation. On the way you will make a stop at the impressive Cuicocha Lagoon with crystal clear waters set in a volcanic crater of 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) in diameter that is about 3,068 meters (10,065 feet) above sea level and that has in its center 2 islets that make the landscape a unique spectacle to take beautiful photos.
The road continues downhill towards the Intag Valley until you get to the town of Apuela where you will finally reach the coffee plantation and the Intag River Coffee Growers Association (AACRI) to learn more about the cultivation and selection process of coffee in this area.
The journey will continue until making a last stop for lunch in Nangulví and after that, return to Otavalo.
