To get to the peculiar coastal city of Valparaiso you will have to travel about 120 km. from Santiago. This is a very fun city just to see it from the first moment for its colorful houses on the hills. Valparaiso also has English-influenced architecture with a certain bohemian style.
We will leave very early from Santiago to visit Valparaiso and Viña del Mar, two coastal cities of Chile. As good Chilean wine is a tradition, during our trip we will make a stop at the Rio Tinto wine market. Once we arrive in Valparaiso we will visit Cerro Florida where one of the houses of the famous Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda is located, we will also walk through the streets of Cerro Concepción and Cerro Alegre until lunch time where we will enjoy an impressive view of the bay while we taste the food from the region.
Valparaiso also has a historical area where we will visit the Plaza Sotomayor and the old and interesting "Elevators", an urban mean of transportation system that you cannot miss when visiting Valparaiso, after this historical visit, we will go to the Muelle del Prat to board a boat that will take us along the coast to see the city from the sea.
Our next stop will be the Viña del Mar where we will visit the Flower Clock and the Francisco Fonck Museum of Archeology and History where we will see an original moai from Easter Island, after that, we will walk along a city beach and then we will return to Santiago.
