The San Antonio fort, one of the final Spanish fortresses in Chile, was completed at the end of the 18th century, and we’ll see it when we dock in Chacao before continuing on to Ancud. A few historic churches, the Main Square, and the Mercado Municipal (Municipal Market) will also be introduced to us. After that, we’ll go on to Dalcahue, a town next to Quinchao Island, where there is a traditional food market made out of palafitos (also known as palafittes), dwellings built on stilts and situated next to the water. We’ll go to the artisan market and view the church that has been designated a World Heritage Site, Nuestra Señora de Dolores.
