Overview

If you are looking for a place in Costa Rica where you can see native and migratory birds of different species, you must reach the slopes of San Marcos de Tarrazú, one of the highest mountains in Costa Rica where you can find the small rural town of Esquipulas in Manuel Antonio National Park.

This tour starts very early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Manuel Antonio to go together to the mountains of Tarrazú by car while the guide helps you identify the first species of birds of the place.

The bird watching area near the town of Esquipulas houses a great variety of birds due to its special ecosystem that combines primary and secondary forest, orchards and cattle pastures, making it easier to see species such as the colorful Tanagers and Trogons, the speedy Hummingbirds, the small Flycatchers and Manakins, and colorful Toucans among other interesting birds that make an approximate of 304 species.
