The mornings are the most active moments to see the native birds of Cusco in their natural environment, so this tour starts very early, a small effort to enjoy an unparalleled show.
You must be ready at 4:30 AM because your guide will pick you up very early from your hotel in Cusco, then the tour will go to Huacarpay Lake, in that place you will see the first birds swimming hidden among the “totora” (cattails-like plant) or flying through the skies, These birds are not seen in other latitudes, such as the Andean teal, the Andean gull, Andean lapwing and with good luck the white-backed stilt (small birds with long legs). Around 70 species of birds live in this area between different times of the year.
Around 8:00 AM you will take a break to have breakfast and then return to the city of Cusco at around 10:30 AM.
