Once again the Sacred Valley is the ideal setting to experience the traditional Andean ceremonies that takes place in Urubamba where mother earth is thanked, because the earth is one of the main gods of the polytheistic Andean religion. These ceremonies are very old and exist today thanks to the tradition of the peoples. Travelers who experience this ceremony at the end of it leave filled with peace and positivism.
The ritual begins with the reading of the coca leaves, this is done to consult about topics related mainly to work, love and the health of the participants.
The second part of the ritual deals with making an offering to the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (Protective Spirits of the Mountains) to later make a request for work, love, health and some other particular requests that each participant may have.
The third part of the ritual is to do a spiritual cleansing to unblock the aura and allow the participants to flow naturally before life and no longer experience stress, nervousness, fears and other worries. To perform this cleansing, the shaman (Andean priest) in charge of the ritual uses herbs and other elements that the land itself provides to heal.
