Overview

If you are more interested in experiences than comfort, the Expedition train is perfect for you. This train transfers you from Aguas Calientes or also called “Machu Picchu City” since it is the closest town to the citadel. Your next destination is the town of Ollantaytambo in the heart of the Sacred Valley where you can visit one of the representative ruins of the Inca legacy that takes the same name from this small city.

Traveling from one place to another during your vacations can be exhausting, getting on and off buses and planes just to start your dream adventure, but in this case that tedious rule is not fulfilled at all, because the trip on the Expedition train will not be a journey to get to the place of your adventure but will be part of it.

This train is equipped with air conditioning and only 48 comfortable seats per wagon that give it enough space to place tables where you can quietly read a book, have a drink or enjoy a board game while you arrive at your destination. The friendly staff on board will also offer you snacks and drinks that you can buy throughout the trip, as well as some souvenirs for you to take home.

The route on the Expedition train lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes but you will not even feel it since you will be amazed by the landscape.
