Solymar is a very well located hotel, from its gardens you already have the first contact with the nature of Galapagos because you can see some small animals of the island walking around. You can also choose a rooms with sea front view.
With an impressive location, the Solymar hotel is on the promenade, between the Charles Darwin Research Station (where the preservation of the Galapagos giant tortoise is promoted) and the beach of Tortuga Bay. Its good location allows you to find good restaurants of Ecuadorian seafood very close to the hotel, as well as many souvenir shops and a landscape auspicious to taking beautiful photos with the sea and the sunset in the background.
The rooms at Solymar are very bright, very fresh and have air conditioning, safe and private bathroom (with hair dryer and hot water). Also in the common areas you can access free WiFi. Visitors arriving for business have access to the business and events room that is implemented with audiovisual equipment that may be needed.
Solymar now has a new building of rooms in its new tower “Isla Sol” although the rooms in this tower are not facing the sea but have other amenities such as modern cable televisions and equal access to the common areas of the hotel such as the dining room where you can have breakfast from the varied buffet that includes cereals, local fruits, pancakes, boiled eggs (to order) or have lunch and dinner from the fine selection of international food and Ecuadorian seafood.
In the afternoon you can take a walk through the gardens and visit the outdoor hotel bar to have a refreshing drink or a cocktail while having a lively conversation with other guests or order a drink while enjoying the hotel pool very close to the sea. where you can even see some friendly sea lions that are not afraid of human beings as well as coastal birds anxious to greet you.
