On this tour you will arrive in the province of Misiones to visit the Wanda Mines and the San Ignacio Ruins, the latter, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Without a doubt, this is a cultural and historical tour, essential for those interested in learning more about Misiones and its heritage as well as precious stones, geology or jewelry.
The tour starts in the morning to head towards San Ignacio where the ruins of the Reduction of San Ignacio stand, these are remains of an ancient civilization designed by Jesuits. The facade of the main temple was made entirely of pink sandstone in 1610 in a baroque design. Some walls of the temple have been restored because, due to the tropical climate of the region, it tends to be covered with small microorganisms that decompose it.
Our next stop will be the Wanda Mines, founded by Polish settlers in 1936 in honor of a Polish princess who was very fond of precious gems. The Wanda Mines are in the open air, visitors can walk and explore its caves, even at the entrance of the caves you can find some artisans offering some of the stones, from there you can take some souvenirs to remember your trip.
