This tour takes you to the Colca Canyon and its surrounding towns, where you will enjoy a truly overwhelming landscape. This Peruvian canyon even beats the Colorado canyon in depth, it is worth visiting.
The Colca Canyon is a beautiful accident of nature formed as a product of erosion by glaciers and rivers that in past times crossed the area where this canyon is located, in fact the entire area of the department of Arequipa is surrounded by rivers and peaks snowy.
Day 1
You will leave your hotel very early to go to the town of Chivay, passing through Pampa Cañahuas first, where you can already have the first views of the Colca Canyon. We recommend you acclimatize very well because when you arrive at Pampa Cañahuas you will have reached a height of about 4000 meters (13 100 feet) and you will climb more as you advance until you reach your goal, the Colca.
After appreciating the first views of the valley, the tour will take you to the "Mirador de los Andes" (viewpoint of the Andes) so that you can see at least 6 or 7 volcanoes, including Misti, the most important and representative of Arequipa. On your tour you will also have the opportunity to see the Colca valley in its splendor where the inhabitants of the nearby villages still cultivate on the old pre-Inca platforms.
Later you will make a stop in Chivay town for lunch and go to the hotel of your choice, there you can take a bath after so much walking and in the afternoon you will go to "La Calera", the hot springs to relax even more for a long trip.
Day 2
The second day will be memorable, your guide will go for you very early in the morning and together you will go to the “Cruz del Condor” viewpoint, from there the view is really impressive but even more so is seeing the majestic white-collar Andean condor fly through the skies.
In each of the viewpoints that you visit in the two days of the tour you will be able to see part of the Colca Canyon and the beautiful landscape of the Colca Valley as well.
After this experience with the Andean condor, you will return to Chivay Town, on the way you will make some interesting stops to continue appreciating the Colca Valley and take the most beautiful photos, thus you will arrive at two more viewpoints until you reach the town of Maca with its small colonial church and you will have the opportunity to see the Choquetico Stone, a kind of stone model that has the design of the pre-Columbian Peruvian terraces that were built on the slopes of the mountains where the ancient Peruvians used to cultivate their food.
The Colca Valley has many picturesque villages, before arriving in Chivay for lunch you will visit one of them, the town of Yanque that has a church built in white Sillar stone dating from the 18th century, then you will continue your trip to Chivay to collect your belongings in the hotel where you stayed and finally return to the city of Arequipa.
